6 Souls Review

6 Souls

Well, it was movie night here at the old institution so I wasn't sure what to expect. Ohhh I figured Disney films or those dreadful "feel good movies" that only leave me full of rage....hey I am working on that!

Anyway our movie fare of the night was 6 Souls starring Julianne Moore and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who I hear will be playing a vampire on a new NBC show....mental note must checkout that trailer. Anyway this movie is about Moore who plays a psychiatrist who encounters a patient that may or may not have multiple personality disorders. Now I am not one to judge (too much), but showing a movie about multiple personalities to a group of asylum residents doesn't seem like the smartest move, but I will let the disciplinary committee deal with that one.

Overall it was a pretty solid flick it did drag in certain areas, but it kept the twists and turns coming. Jonathan Rhys Meyers can play crazy pretty well and Moore is always great. I can understand why this didn't get a theatrical release because it does have that straight to video feel, but this film looks like it actually had a budget so don't let that discourage you. Most people feel that movies have to have cinematic perfection to recommend them to others, but even when films have a few stumbles that is no reason to completely disregard them. I say give 6 Souls a view, one of your personalities might be happy that you did.
