The Lords of Salem Review

The Lords of Salem - People have claimed for years that the devil is in music and thanks to the Lords of Salem it's true. When Heidi (Sheri Moon Zombie) a local DJ plays a mysterious new record she receives from The Lords she unknowingly unleashes the past horrors of her town and the insanity she will soon descend into.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but thankfully this film is helping to solidify Rob Zombie as a horror director. With his directorial debut with the cult classic House of 1000 Corpses and it's follow up The Devil's Rejects (which is permanently on my top 10 list) Zombie has crafted another great horror film. The journey you take with Heidi into her madness is a dark and twisted one that doesn't fall prey to the typical horror cliques. The mood, tone and feel of the movie is consist throughout, which adds a level of suspense that a lot of horror films lack. There are some great memorable scenes and the addition of Dee Wallace Stone and Patricia Quinn helps to round out the cast. I was pleasantly surprised about how much I did enjoy this movie and I think truthfully a lot of people will too.

In true Rob Zombie style he delivers a solid and satisfying horror film that will take you on a supernatural induced journey that will leave you wanting to play it again.
